[ Coming Soon! VIZBIG Volume 10 and 11 ]
8/4/09 - Price Increase For Future IY Manga [ In tid-bit news today, that hopefully won't break the bank, future IY manga volumes (41 and up) will be receiving an increase in price jumping from $8.95 to $9.99. While the reason behind this is not known I can rule out that it is not because of the flip in format, seeing as how volumes 38 to 40 are flipped and still priced at $8.95. (Older IY manga before volume 38 read left to right. Newer volumes 38 and beyond read right to left in traditional manga format.) The price effect will take place this October with the release of IY manga volume 41. [ Coming Soon! InuYasha The Final Act ]
10/21/11 - InuYasha: The Final Act Release Imminent! [ Viz Media announced from their New York Comic Con panel this past Sunday, the 16th, a release date for InuYasha The Final Act. All that was said was to expect a 2012 release, but along with that came the announcement that it would be released on DVD as well as Blu-Ray. Expect more release information as it appears! 10/04/09 - InuYasha: The Final Act Now on Hulu
[ The installment of the new series is now viewable on Hulu. The first episode has already been posted, entitled "Naraku's Heart". This is the first in a supposed 26 episode series that has yet been dubbed. The episodes viewable on Hulu are subbed with Japanese audio and English subtitles. It should also be noted that a new episode will be added every Saturday. Expect to hear more on Dvd as well as other releases/announcements. 9/30/09 - IY: Final Act Ad Posting & USA Airings [ Viewable on the official IY: Final Act site is a thirty second advert for the new series. The video has been up since this past Wednesday, and is still viewable via the link above. Also announced was the Viz Media simulcasting of this series, which will be taking place Saturday October 3rd. That information was released this past Sunday. Now for the $100 question: Who all will be waiting for an English Dubbed release? 9/15/09 - IY: Final Act Condensed To Only 26 Episodes?
[ A recent article on ANN tells that the Animax channel will be premiering the IY Final Act series on October 10th, one week after the October 3rd premiere in Japan. However, ANN states that only 26 episodes will be airing in this new continuation. With that in mind, it took roughly 356 chapters to span 167 episodes. With nearly 203 chapters left untouched in the InuYasha story it looks hard to believe that only 26 episodes will be enough to give IY the proper anime ending. These 26 episodes might, however, be the test to see if this continuation is popular enough to withstand the ride to the end.. 9/5/09 - Parts In IY: The Final Act Opening/Ending Themes Announced [ Do As Infinity (Preformed "Fukai Mori" and "Shinjitsu no Uta" for the first InuYasha anime series) and AAA (Preformed "Blood on Fire" for the live action Initial D movie) will be be preforming for this new installment of InuYasha: The Final Act. Do As Infinity will be preforming the Opening theme, while AAA the Ending theme. It should also be noted that the IY: Final Act series will be debuting October 3rd (Saturday) in Tokyo's Kanto region. 8/12/09 - IY Episode Count Up To 100 On Hulu [ With the episode count now peaking 100 it seems that Hulu has been releasing more than just one IY episode a week. Hulu began posting subtitled episodes of IY back around July 21st 2009. Seeing as how nearly four seasons of the anime have been posted in less than a month one can only expect the full series of 167 episodes to be released soon. Again, it should be noted that these episodes are viewable only by those viewers within the United States. 7/25/09 - Viz Media Picks Up IY: The Final Act Anime
[ As expected, Viz Media announced at its second Saturday panel at Comic-Con International that it had acquired the second anime installment of IY (Inuyasha: The Final Act). The series will be airing this fall in Japan. Expect to here more on this as new information is released. 7/21/09 - IY Now Showing On Hulu [ The first 32 episodes of IY anime have been uploaded to Hulu. The episodes posted are subtitled with Japanese audio, however, there is no word of English dub episodes being uploaded to the site. While there are only 32 episodes at this time a new episode will be added each week. It should be noted that these episodes are viewable only by those viewers within the United States. 7/21/09 - IY Anime Episodes Now Available On iTunes [ Spotted on the US iTunes today was the Season One, Vol One collection of IY. This collection contains the first 13 episodes of the anime series with the first episode available for free (for a limited time). The other 12 episodes cost $1.99 per episode. However, you can pay $22.99 to download the entire 13 episodes. It should be noted that this doesn't contain all 27 episodes from the first season. Season One, Vol Two will contain the rest of this season. This release seems to be following the Naruto release on iTunes in the sense that seasons are split into two/three volumes. Expect to see more listings about these iTunes releases as they appear. 7/17/09 - New IY Anime Episodes Announced [ New IY episodes have been announced according to this year's 34th issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday. This new broadcast will be airing on Japan's YTV this upcoming fall and will be covering the manga volumes 36 to 56. Volume 56 is the final IY manga volume, so with that we can conclude that the IY anime will now be getting a proper ending. The new series is call Inuyasha Final Chapter (Kanketsu-hen). More information will be added here as needed. 10/26/06 - More IY Anime In The Works? [ The US has finally aired the last episode of Inuyasha. Now the big question, will there be more? Well, to be honest, no one has any idea if more episodes will be made. Many people doubt it, since the final episode aired in Japan in September of 2004. There have been "hints" of the anime returning, but like I said, no one is sure. Below I have posted a couple of these "hints" that I mentioned. This information is from Ear Tweak. SEPTEMBER 13, 2004 - Yes, according to Sunrise producer Machihiko Suwa's interview on Anime Scramble on Aug. 20, there likely will be more Inuyasha projects, but nothing further has been said. Websunday has also hinted that there will still be Inuyasha anime on the horizon, but again, no indication as to what direction it will take. If there is any further information out of Japan, rest assured I'll post it here. AUGUST 21, 2004 - Yes, both Yomiuri TV and Websunday have been (rather ambiguously) saying that there indeed will be future Inuyasha anime projects. It is very common for televised anime to end short of their manga counterparts and not follow through the ending. Yes, the last one-hour televised episode of Inuyasha did NOT end like the manga is going to end (being that the manga hasn't ended yet.) But while 166-167 IS being called the last episode, whether or not the series will continue through OAV (original animation video, direct-to-video) releases, or other unserialized televised episodes, or some other form (:P) hasn't been said or decided. According to the Anime Scramble interview, there will probably not be any production until after Guren no Houraijima (( Fire on the Mystic Island )) is released this winter, though. Hopefully a new installment of the anime will come about. For now, no one knows. If I see any new information come up about this, you will definitely see it here. I'll post more information when I see it. Inuyasha Movie News
7/14/06 - Adult Swim To Host IY Movies [ Adult Swim will be hosting Inuyasha Movies 3 and 4 on their website ( adultswim.com ). Expect to see Inuyasha Movie 3 on July 27th, and Inuyasha Movie 4 on August 3rd. Each movie will be up for a week, so watch 'em while you can! Also an 'Inuyasha Movie Box Set', which will contain all four Inuyasha movies, will be hitting store shelves soon! 8/1/06 - Opinon - IY Movie #5? [ The US now has all four Inuyasha movies translated into English. Now the big question: "When will the fifth movie come out?". Well, what I have heard is that there will only be four Inuyasha movies. This may only be a rumor, but I wouldn't be surprised if a fifth movie dosen't come out. I think so because the Inuyasha anime has already ended in Japen and has ended in the US. If there are any announcements on a fifth movie release I will let you guys know as soon as I hear of it. Check back often for more news and updates!
